What is required for a building permit?

1.    Building Permit Application

• Application information / checklist (Word / PDF)

2.    911 Address

• Application for 911 Address
• Fee: $15 per address

3.    Warranty Deed / Plat

• A copy can be obtained from the Bulloch County Clerk of Courts Department (912) 764-9009

4.    Com Check

• Run ComCheck program and submit results to verify compliance with the Energy Code (ComCheck software)

5.    Wastewater Approval

• Municipal Wastewater (Statesboro Water / Wastewater Department: (912) 764-5468)
• Septic Tank System (Bulloch County Health Department: (912) 764-5969)

6.   Commercial / Industrial Building Plans

• Plans must be stamped by a Design Professional
• Plans must meet current building code
• Plans must meet zoning design guidelines
• Fire Marshall Approval for projects that fall under the State Fire Marshal's jurisdiction
• Construction in Flood Hazard Areas (if applicable)
